Bloomfield Rotary volunteers at Foodshare
On Wednesday evening, members of the Bloomfield Rotary Club spent three hours at Foodshare helping sort and pack the donated meat that comes from the retail grocery stores.
Mark Weisman, Bloomfield Rotary President, sent this comment to Foodshare the next day, "Excellent afternoon at FoodShare yesterday. You and your crew really know how to professionally and respectfully handle volunteers. I hope we can make it a regular happening, and spread the word to the other area Rotary Clubs as well."
With both Stop & Shop and Big Y stores now donating meat to Foodshare every week, the organization is receiving 12-15,000 pounds of meat per week. Volunteers are needed to help sort and pack the frozen meat for distribution to people in need.
