In an effort to promote literacy and deepen the understanding of early Connecticut among students at Metacomet School, the Bloomfield Rotary Club has donated copies to each student of the book "The Courage of Sarah Noble" by Alice Dalgliesh.

The book is the true story of an eight-year-old girl named Sarah, who grew up in the 18th Century and traveled into Connecticut with her father.  This is the fourth consecutive year that Rotary donated books to the 260 third and fourth graders at Metacomet.  Principal Desi Nesmith from Metacomet was quoted as saying "The Bloomfield Rotary Club continues to be on the front lines helping to support our students here at Metacomet.  Through their generous donations of books every year, along with their student of the month recognition, our students continue to benefit academically and are recognized for their hard work through the Rotary organization."
